Sea Call Farm Community Garden Membership

Who Can Become a Member?

There are three community gardens in Orleans: Sea Call Farm, Hopkins Lane, and Putnam Farm.

To be eligible for Sea Call or Hopkins, one must be an Orleans resident. Putnam Farm operates a little differently – there are different rules and regulations and a much higher fee. You do not need to be an Orleans resident to join Putnam.

There’s currently a waiting list for Sea Call Farm and Hopkins Farm plots. Existing gardeners are automatically offered their plots back, provided they follow the relevant rules and regulations, but if a gardener opts out, then the next waitlisted person is selected. The Putnam Farm garden waiting list is based on a lottery system.

Cost, Rules and Other Information

The three gardens are managed by the Town of Orleans Conservation Commission, so they are the ones to answer questions about membership, to submit payments to, etc. This website is for Sea Call Farm community garden members, but the Town of Orleans runs the property.

The cost at both the Sea Call Farm and Hopkins Lane gardens is currently $35 for a full plot and $20 for a half plot. Putnam Farm plots are larger and currently cost $500. To be added to the waiting list for an Orleans community garden plot, you can call Kristyna Smith at the Conservation Commission office at 508-240-3700 ext. 2425, or you can submit the form at the bottom of this page.

Contact Kristyna for rules and regulations or other info associated with Sea Call Farm or the Hopkins Lane or Putnam Farm gardens.
